After this page was published Steve broke the Manx 50km record and was ranked Number 1 in Britain for 2005

Steve Partington, who was 40 years old on Saturday 17 September, is surely everything a sportsman should be. Determined, competitive, talented, modest when winning, generous in defeat, he has time for every athlete.   He is pictured at e 2005 Sports Awards with wife Cal, who was 7th in the world masters fell running championships a week ago. (ML)

On 25 August 1994 Steve Partington set a Manx 30km walk record of 2:14:15 when he finished 7th in the Commonwealth Games in Canada. Quite how he achieved the 8th fastest British performance of all time when it included several bouts of sickness like this will never be known.

2005 manxathletics.com features

manxathletics.com is an independent site designed, edited and funded by Murray Lambden.

The site was updated daily for three and a half years until June 2004 when the webeditor took a sabbatical. It now serves as a portal for Manx athletes with special features on a few events and ad hoc publishing when time permits without giving in to the addiction! Old features can be found by using the Google search below.

manxharriers.com which is edited by Paul Jackson, is the highly recommended sister site of manxathletics.com
