BRIDGET KANEEN AND LES BROWN HAD AN EPIC
BATTLE IN THE RAMSEY PARK RUNS ON FRIDAY EVENING - JUST
ONE SECOND SEPARATED THEM - pictures by Murray Lambden
I was struggling to adapt to a new camera
and didn't exactly get them in focus but this shot at least
showed the intensity of their effort to win the race. If only
I had sound as well!

Back to the old camera for some of the
better shots of the night.
Race promoter supreme Paul Jackson - watch
out for the International Laa Columb Killey in the next few
days!
and Paul could probably come up with a
caption or two (why don't you all?) for Les Brown. Les had an
outstanding run, no wonder he finished so well up, with the
7th best time of the night.
Adie Harrison is deep in concentration
while Ian Callister is full steam ahead in the background.
and back to the new camera (HP945)
Fastest on the night was the second best
veteran fell runner in the country the previous weekend, Paul
Sheard in 21 minutes.
Northern 10 winner, Mike Garrett, sprinted
past Stephen Brown and Michael George to set a personal best
of 21.22.
and Chris Quine, in his first ever run
on the course, took 21 minutes and 59 seconds, just 8 seconds
slower than his protégé, Andy Cannell.
