Weather forecast by Adrian Cowin

Although it's early days yet for good confidence in this forecast, the first indications for Monday are that after a mainly dry morning & afternoon there's an increasing probability of some rain for the Peel to Douglas race in the evening. However, I'm glad to say that the runners are likely to benefit from something of a tailwind component -- there's a 10 to 15mph WSW or SW'ly breeze in prospect. Let's hope that the rain is either late coming in or at least light / showery.

You don't have to be cut out to be a Marshal.

Just put your hand up & volunteer.

I only have 4 marshals so far for the Peel to Douglas road run on Monday 3rd May from 7pm. In the interests of safety of all the competitors I urgently need more volunteers. Please ring Paul on 611179/4987873 or email [email protected] if you can spare an hour along the race route.

The Isle of Man Bank Peel to Douglas run is considered by many to be "the" classic Manx race - but it requires a lot of more helpers if it is be continued into the future. Don't take these comments lightly - remember what happened to the Douglas to Castletown run.

Apart from the need for more marshals, everyone taking part (and their supporters) must take a big responsibility for safety by wearing bright clothing, keeping in single file except when overtaking and parking sensibly.
