There was a record entry of runners at the Mooragh Park, Ramsey. Brian Osbourne set off fast and was never headed. The bridge was dangerously slippery but Brian still ran his fastest ever time. Dave Newton has his eye on another old runner ahead of him as he speeds off the bridge for the final time. Steve Bennett and Matthew Kelly dice for lead in the short distance race but look carefully in the background. Jordan Cain is tucked in close behind and his left his dad (Phil) behind for the first time.
Its the third year that the site has carried pictures from the Park Races (Stan provided the very first ones) but surprisingly nobody had taken them from this side of the park before. Here Ramsey Harbour Master Martin Bell stays close to the water. Mike Garrett (above) heads for 4th place, while handicapper Alan Poslethwaite (below) moves up to 8th, eventually finishing 7th. These two athletes are singled out for praise by the webmaster on the newspage.
