Mike Lambden has been taking photos for more than 50 years, developing his own film as a teenager. It’s the 10th time that he has taken photos of the Manx Telecom Parish Walk, travelling specially from Droitwich, although he nearly didn’t make it last year as he was in a Worcester hospital with a heart condition on the Wednesday evening.  You’ll see him at the start, Santon and Peel. He retired as Corporate Affairs Manager in 2012 after 46 years with National Express when he was collected for work on a special coach with the destination of “Lambden” and a route number “46 years”.

Vincent Campbell is a regular contributor to the isleofman.in website. The accountant who heads fund services at SMP Partners, the Orrisdale feeding station sponsor, has for the past three years been the roaming cameraman, a role he continues in 2016. He reaches the places others avoid with his long lens producing high quality shots and thousands of images. Now and again he is caught on the other side of the camera as with this photo with cricketer Mark Ramprakash - hope that Vin mentioned the Manx Telecom Parish Walk to him!

Neil Wilson appears to be the best dressed of the photographers but you will find him in a different outfit on Parish Walk day. On Tynwald Day, and at the Tynwald garden party, he is dressed as an usher; for the past three years on Parish Walk day he dresses for the motorbike he will ride to bring us the best photos around the south and over the Sloc, although his 2016 participation is dependent on the dates of his family holiday. Neil, who is a senior civil servant in the Department of Economic Development, has been a regular contributor to the manxathletics.com and isleofman.in websites with his camera as well as appearing in other photographer’s lens whilst competing regularly as a runner.

 You’ll find another picture of Karen Kneale on the organising page as the former Commonwealth Games 10km walker is a stalwart member of the organising committee. Her main role is liaising with SPORTident to ensure the entries, timing system and results are in good order but for the past fourth years she has also been busy taking photos of all the finishers on Douglas Promenade capturing those special moments, crossing the line and being reunited with friends and families.

Stan Hall was one of the first Manx photographers to have athletics photographs on the internet on his own site and as a contributor to manxathletics.com. He rejoined the parishwalk.com team last year, when we thought Mike Lambden might not be fit to travel, and has kindly agreed to return to Marown this year where hopefully it will be a lot drier. Stan formerly ran his own motor body repair business and was for many years a competitive runner. He is also a former motor cycle sponsor.

Ben Lambden‘s involvement in the Parish Walk began as a marshal at Ballasalla aged 12. He worked for sponsor Manx Telecom during his school weekends and many student holidays before his medical studies at Hull York Medical School. At the time of the 2015 Manx Telecom Parish Walk he was near to completion of his two-year stint as a junior doctor at Nobles Hospital and was on duty in A & E on the Sunday morning where he no doubt saw a few of the walkers!  He has returned to study in Stockholm but regardless of whether he is able to assist with photography for the fourth year, he will remain as assistant social media and web editor.

Beryl Quayle is new to athletics but is an experienced photographer winning five competitions in the Isle of Man Photographic Society competitions last year alone and has regular selections on this website. She has also taken photos for the Manx Gilbert & Sullivan society Calamity Jane and Carousel and photos for Theatrix dance group prospectus.  A keen motor cyclist and a primary school friend of the webeditor in Kirk Michael she was delighted to help.  The photo of by Beryl is by Barry Murphy.  If you can’t beat them join them! Marie Lambden is photographed in Switzerland in 2014 on her 30th wedding anniversary. For the most recent nine she has had a cameo role taking some of the early video film somewhere around Braddan Bridge or the TT Access Road.

Website publisher Murray Lambden doesn’t get much chance to take photos these days. I spend most of the 24 hours in the back of the van and in the office at the finish. But I’ll keep my hand in on the TT Access Road camera slot, take some of the leaders in the north and help the other photographers set up with a time on the clock that few will ever see! When I reach this point I know I am into the last 10 hours of my stint.

 Paul Jackson’s face is one that you rarely recognise at an athletics event in the Isle of Man - not because he normally wears a wig but because he is working behind the scenes publishing websites, marking courses or taking on some other job that nobody else wants. He joined the team last year to upload photos from the start line. This year he will stay for the photos from Braddan and Marown to be delivered so that you can watch the race online earlier than ever before.
