10,000m Walk Championships Left; Peter Kaneen winner of the men’s title finishing in 47.59.5 Right; Marie Jackson (60) took the ladies title in 56.29.2. Lauren Whelan (62) walked 4K in 23.03. Alexandra Ross (55) completed the 2K event in 12.20 behind Sinead Kaneen in 11.40. Allan Callow was 2nd Man in the 10K. Left; Karen Renecle (49) walked well to finish second lady in 64.29.6. Alan Kinvig (36) of the IOMVAC finished 3rd Man in 67.53.8. U13 Girl Hannah Kelly (56) walked impressively over 1600m to finish in 11.12 whilst U13 Boy James Green (centre) completed 800m in 5.26 Right: Winter Walking League winner Kath Colquitt (61) finished in 72.04.6 in the hot conditions. Warm Weather training; With the Parish Walk just a couple of weeks away, Cliodhna Swales & Mark Cleator made their debuts in this event as part of their training and walked well to record 72.02.4 & 72.25.1 respectively walk photos by PJ Results
10,000m Run Championships
Top 4 finishers; Island Games Half Marathon entrant Kevin Loundes was the strongest finisher of the leading pack to claim the men’s title in 34.42.2. He was over 1 minute quicker than in the same event last year which was won by this years runner up, Island Games Team manager Andy Fox (54) who recorded 34.54.3. Ed Gumbley (49) who will represent the Isle of Man in Rhodes next month in the 10,000m track event finished 3rd in 35.03.7 Darren Gray (36) was 4th in 35.20.9. The remarkable Robbie Callister. His Parish Walk preparations included a debut in the 10,000m track champs. In a close finish Robbie finished 6th in 36.06.9 less than 2 seconds adrift of Northern AC’s Kevin Vondy (43) in 5th. Ben Scott (40) crossed the line close behind in 7th 36.13.4 Island Games climate and training preparations for Gail Griffiths (52) who kept her cool and took the ladies title in 43.36.2 ahead of Wendy Ross (45) who ran well to record her second best 10K track time in 44.32.6 Dave Newton (198) who ran in his familiar colours of red, with a red vest recorded 40.07.7. Sam Cowen (38) planned a 5K run out as part of her Island Games training plan and recorded 20.04.4 Results
