Gold for the U13 Girls Team of Lauren Welan, Kirsty Taylor & Fay Latham  pictured on the podium with Silver Medalists Wolverhampton & Bilston. Dave Moorcroft (far right) presented the medals

Junior team coach Elizabeth Corran the won the 1st lady award in the opening event of the day, the Veteran’s 3K. Her unofficial PB time was 16:26

Dougie Corkill won first Vet 55 and is already planning to return in 20 years time to challenge for the Vet 75 award. His unofficial PB time was 17:30

Lauren Whelan (left) retained her U13 Girls National title in great style. Fay Latham (right) won Bronze in the same 2K event. Both girls also represented England in the Nihill Shield match against Ireland

Third member of the U13 Girls team of Gold medalists was Kirsty Taylor (no.6)

Bronwen Kaneen (left) finished brilliantly in the Under 15 Girls 3K event and sister Sinead was pipped on the line by Caitlin Hayden (no.110) of Nuneaton Harriers in the Under 11’s 1K event

Marie Latham did her bit for the ‘Keep Leamington Tidy’ campaign and in the process binned her previous PB of 1:53:16 for 20K set in the Manx Open last month. Her finish time was 1:50:56 (officially 54:24 for 10K)

Bridget Kaneen and Les Brown went for Gold in the synchronised racewalking event. They went through 10K together at 56.04 with Les finishing strongest over the latter stages. Both were delighted with their finish times with  Les finishing in 1:54:12 and Bridget in 1:54:57

Unfortunately Dave Griffiths and Robert Moore were both non finishers. Dave picked up a couple of cards from the judges very early on and was DQ’d 38 minutes into his 20K race. Robert Moore struggled from very early on in the Under 20 Men’s 10K race and pulled up after 8K

Dougie Corkill was enjoying a cup of tea in the nearby cafe when the presentation took place for his vets race. Fortunately Elizabeth Corran was on hand to stage a recontruction later in the afternoon
