Sunday 10th September All photo’s by Sean Hands Centurion Mike Gellion was notably delighted & surprised to win this years Boundary Stroll Walk finishing 2 minutes clear of Mike Readshaw, with John Stubbs in 3rd. Only 6 of the 33 starters from last years event signed up for this years bumper field of 44. Four times Parish Walk finisher Mike Readshaw approaches the finish line to claim 2nd place Double Centurion John Stubbs finishes 3rd Parish Walk 2005 finisher Alison Brand wins the 1st lady prize Alison’s training partner Jane Mooney is back in action after an appendicectomy in June which wrecked her Parish Walk plans. Jane walked well to finish 2nd lady Double Parish Walk finisher Lisa Motley bounced back after her disappointment in the 100 mile walk to take the 3rd lady finisher prize Murray Lambden, one of only two athletes to have ever won both the Boundary Stroll walk and the run beat Ben Scott of Western AC by almost 3 minutes with Mark Clague finishing 3rd. Unfortunately the run was poorly supported by local road runners reflected in the entry numbers and the offers of help with marshalling, which was disappointing after an optimistic revival last year. Hopefully the club and our sponsors at least will agree to support staging the run again next year Murray Lambden’s performances in the Boundary Stroll Run
Ben Scott of Western AC wrapped up a terrific summer of road running performances to claim 2nd place Unattached Mark Clague finished 3rd and recorded a personal best time by 4 minutes set last year Sam Cowin, now of Manx Harriers & one the most improved runners of 2006 beat last years time by 10 minutes to claim first lady prize.
