A delighted Nigel Armstrong wins the Isle of Man Mountain Ultra

Still smiling (but he almost fell over in doing so!) Armstrong was rewarded for year long plan to peak for a single event

Former winner Ian Gale moved steadily through the field to second place

Judith Quane won the women’s race

A few minutes earlier the mist had been down on North Barrule for Tom Cringle, who won the shorter Mountain Race.

Conditions were trickier than ever crossing the Injebreck stream. Nigel Maddocks  just stays on his feet.
