Next years race will start at 8am from the NSC on Saturday June 24th 2006. There
will be changes to the route into Ballasalla, more details to follow. The prize
presentation will be on Tuesday June 27th at the Villa Marina.
The ladies race will be to the finish only as will the veterans race. Each
year we have confusion over who wins these awards when the race is to Peel. Next
year it will be clearer as it will be the first over the line at Douglas. As
each year passes we are seeing more and more walkers going the whole way and
whilst reaching Peel is an achievement it will not mark the finish for the
ladies, vet ladies nor the vet mens races.
In order to control the race traffic more effectively there will be no
stopping zones created at various points along the course where it will be
prohibited to stop and give drinks etc to a walker. More details about this and
other rules to follow later.

Thanks for your support. Murray Lambden 16 July 2005
Thanks to all the officials who helped organise the 2005 Clerical Medical Parish Walk. Every contribution was important but it takes leadership of the quality of Raymond Cox and a well organised committee including race secretary Elizabeth Corran, course director Kevin Walmsley, chief marshal Winston Liu, Karen Kneale, Martin Lambden, Tracy Cook and Debbie Walmsley to pull this great team together.
Thanks to Karen, Tracy & Martin for processing the results and to Winston for supplying them electronically.
HELP REQUIRED
As the event gets bigger each year, so do the number of helpers required to organise the event as safely as possible.
If you have skills that could help to organise, or if you can spare a few hours to help marshal, set up road signs etc, your help will be gratefully received. Email [email protected] and I will forward your offers of help for the 2006 Clerical Medical Parish Walk to the most appropriate person.
Thank you.

A real hero - Edward Kelly.
He may have only walked 2 miles to the finish church at Braddan but his time of 2 hours 35 minutes is quite remarkable. The 23 year old had a stroke two years ago and it was feared he would never walk again. (Photo by Paul Jackson)
