With just two weeks to go until the Easter Athletics
Festival, the organising committee urgently require your help and support. If
you can help with any of the duties described below, please email Paul Jackson [email protected] or phone/text 07624 487873
For Friday evening’s 10K run in Port Erin we need lots ofhelp with marshalling duties around the course and at the start & finish
areas. Marshals should report to Arnie Jacobs between 6pm &
6.30pm at the ‘Bikestyle’ van which will be parked close to The Bay Pub by the
beach. Marshal bibs and full instructions will be given.
On Saturday morning we need a team of helpers to flag the
course for the hill race. We will be driving the van part way up the headland
slip road where a team of course markers will take over and work together to
flag the course. Free lunch from the bar menu will be provided at the Creek Inn
before the athletes arrive for the race. We shall then
require marshals on the road & bridge sections of the course as well as on
the headland. Report 1.30pm – 2pm to the race registration desk at the House of
Manannan.
On Easter Sunday morning the action moves to Douglas
Promenade for the 5K & Junior events Arnie Jacobs will again be on hand to
drive the Bikestyle van along the Douglas Promenade walkway from about 9.15am.
He will need one or two people with him to help put out a few cones and signs
along the course and set up cones & tapes at the turning point. We also
need marshals along the course and at the turning point from 10.00am until
approx 12.15. Report to race registration desk for your bib and instructions
from 9.30am.
Please do help if you can with any of the above tasks, as we
really need to make the Festival safe and successful for our large numbers of
local and visiting athletes. Also of note is that all marshals/helpers are eligible for a
ticket to the Sunday night presentation & beer drinking competition at The
Outback Sports Bar & Nightclub.
We look forward to
hearing from you!! Tel/Text Paul on 07624 487873
