DUBLIN WALKING GRAND PRIX RESULTS (thanks to Paul Jackson ) 20km

Despite the afternoon heat Marie Latham shatters her personal best set in the Manx 20K Championships in May this year. Her time in Dublin was 2mins 46s quicker. World record holder Gillian O’Sullivan leads from start to finish in the Women’s 20K

Winner of the 20K Mens walk Michele Didoni of Italy (367) in a time of 1:21.44. Fellow Italian Ivano Brugnetti (366) failed to finish
England U15 team coach and Manx Harrier Elizabeth Corran entered the Vets 3K race at the last minute. This was her first racewalk in exactly 2 years when she last competed in the Dublin Grand Prix in 2001. In a pair of trainers borrowed from Callum Taylor, Liz won the Vet Ladies 3K race. Marie Latham had a close battle with Georgina Toohey of Tullamore Harriers Neil Bates & Marie Latham – Rare moment of shade from the baking afternoon sun in Phoenix Park Peter (1.43.01) about to be lapped on the 2K circuit by the two Germans Andre Hohne (1.22.30) and Malk Berger (1.23.49). Peter was typically laid back about the race with two good 20K performances already this year and of course his classic victory in the Parish Walk just three weeks ago. Robert Moore. Bronwen Kaneen, Sinead Kaneen and Fay Latham represent the Manx Harriers in the Girls Under13 1Km race The outstanding Rebecca Mersh (292) set a new course record in the U15 Girls 2K event. Manx Harrier Emma Latham (294) claimed her first England vest in this IRL v ENG Nihill Shield Match finishing an excellent 4th place.
