NEW WESTERN AC CROSS COUNTRY COURSE AT THE DRINEY, ST JOHNS WELL RECEIVED BY MOST PEOPLE PICTURES OF JUNIOR RACES BY MURRAY LAMBDEN PICTURES OF SENIOR RACES BY STEVE PARTINGTON Emphatic winner – Darren Gray In his first cross country since he has been assisted by Chris Quine and Colin Moore, Andy Cannell took second spot. and Mike Garrett took his best ever third place the day after a 14 mile training session. Cal Partington continued her winning ways and looks forward to her debut in the Lancashire Cross Country Championships in three weeks. and despite the official results, Christine Barwell’s training paid off with a great second spot. She follows Alan Pilling, the most prolific racer in the Isle of Man – ever! and here is that man again, this time he leads Bridget Kaneen who made a welcome return after a cortisone injection has given her some hope of a Flora London Marathon debut. Murray Lambden was the top vet but he had Millennium Way Relay 1st leg specialist Keith Callister for company during the first couple of laps.
One of the races of the day. Phil Cain (81), leads Paul Curphey (24) and Dave Newton (100). They finished in the reverse of that order!
