First Adventure Race on Sat 27 March 2010

Sulby valley and the surrounding area is set to be the location of the island’s first ever Adventure Race.  Mark Eastham Adventure Events Coordinator at The Children’s Centre said: "The close proximity of the steep valleys, woodland and remote mountainous areas provide the perfect environment for Adventure Racing.  This event will be a consist of three demanding stages: a 6km trail run, 10km Mountain biking and a further 3.5km trail run, and can be entered as an individual or a team.  The racing is all off-road so the going can get tough: but that’s what Adventure Racing is all about."

Race the Sun – 19 June 2010

Race the Sun is a relay race like no other.  The task is simple: starting at sun rise, your team must complete a lap of the dramatic 100 mile Island coastal footpath before the sun sets.  Split into 10 demanding sections, the course follows the Raad ny Foillan, a stunning coastal footpath with significant height gain.  You will journey along impressive sandy beaches, picturesque glens, estuaries and exposed cliff tops.  Requiring strength, stamina and agility, it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.  Teams can be made up of a maximum of 10 competitors.

Sea to Summit – 10 July 2010

Are you looking for the opportunity to challenge yourself, your fitness and your stamina in some of the most breathtakingly-beautiful scenery in the British Isles?  Sea to Summit Isle of Man is a new and exciting off-road endurance event.  The aim is to conquer 24 of the Island’s 1000 ft summits, walking the equivalent height to three x Ben Nevis in under 24 hrs!  You’ll experience the very best of what the Island has to offer: stunning beaches, dramatic valleys and enchanting woodlands.  The climax of the event is reaching the Island’s highest mountain where, on a clear day, seven Kingdoms can be seen.
