Bridget Kaneen is one of the people who remove any barriers between the different parts of our sport. The former race walker is more likely to be seen running on the fells these days but she is a well qualified track and field official and involved in road running as an occasional competitor but regular official. The variety is further extended by her roles as club secretary and race
organiser for Manx Harriers.
This week will be as varied as it gets. Last Saturday she travelled with the Isle of Man combined track and field team for the first league match at Stretford. In addition to officiating she won the B Hammer event! The next morning she was back organising and recording at the Manx Harriers organised 20km Walking Championships at Ronaldsway (above). This weekend she is part of the British
management team for the world cup walking match at Saransk in Russia. Follow the world cup with a difference here.
Always in support – Bridget with husband Peter support the Manx team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
