Neil Bates was a surprise entrant
(back from Birmingham University) in this morning's
Bank Of Scotland Winter League Walks.
Fastest man & woman. Peter and
Bridget Kaneen.
Tunnel vision - Allan Callow and
Robert Moore emerge from under the Douglas to Peel
railway bridge at Braddan. The bridge was built
in 1873 - before Allan started walking (just!).
There another personal best for
the excellent Robert - but only half a minute this
time.
A personal best by David Griffiths
by more than a minute. He cracked the 55 minute
barrier after dreaming of such an achievement for
years.
Dot Watterson - walking for the
fourth time in the five races to date this winter.
She has been faster each time.
Plenty of experience here with
Mick Holgate and Dave Wilkinson with Ron Ronan in
the background.
All races were started as scratch, with the
handicaps added on post race.

Sean Hands (59) could be the first
person to win the winter league two years in a row
suggests Steve Taylor. He leads Mick Holgate
and David Cain.
Bridget Kaneen - only 6 men have
walked faster this year.
Here are his five times in the
Bank of Scotland Winter League to date
