AAA CHAMPIONSHIPS PICTURES BY MIKE & MURRAY LAMBDEN The day before I went to Birmingham to watch the AAA Championships I read about Cherie Blair’s "image makeover" to try and re-establish her as her own personality and not just the Prime Minister’s (property dealing and freebie taking) wife. She obviously wasn’t expecting Mike to catch her with her "creases and all" outside the Alexander Stadium.
But she certainly entertained the crowd as she pulled each of the pole vault medal winners towards her with big bear hugs and planted a big "smacker". 1964 Olympic long jump champion Lyn Davies is about to award a medal to the person who broke the ancient championship record in the shot – Carl Myerscough. Susan Jones won the high jump yet again. FIRST SET OF AAA CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURES SECOND SET OF AAA CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURES
