Evan Lynch of Clonmel (left) claimed the top honours in the 5km walk winning in a time of 23.06. Emma Prendiville of Ferranfore Maine Valley was second overall and first lady in 24.29 just ahead of Belfast's Emma Doherty in 24.45. There were also inspired performances from Manx Harriers juniors James Geen (28.24), Ali Ross (28.27) and Juan Bellando (30.45) in the 6.25 lap event. Cian Mcmanamon of Westport (right) won the 10km walk in 44.47 ahead of Shercock athletes James Traenor and Paul Fitzpatrick. Adam Cowin of Manx Harriers finished a very impressive 4th in 56.19
Winner of the 20Km walk in a time of 1.29.42 was Daniel King of Colchester Harriers (52). He is pictured with his twin brother Dominic (53) who was unfortunately disqualified. Steve Partington (right) was the first local finisher in 4th place in a time of 1.46.21. Fellow Manx Harrier Michael George finished in 6th place in 1.48.52 with unattached local Richard Gerrard setting a personal best time of 1.51.59 in 7th place.
In the final event of the day, the 10Km run produced two exciting finishes. In the men's race Martin Malone (left) finished the strongest over the last 200m to beat Ed Gumbley (right) after a close race long battle. Mike Garrett finished in third place with all 3 Manx Harriers athletes recording personal best times. Mike recorded his previous best time over 10Km in 1996.
Christine O'Hanlon lead the ladies race until the final lap when newcomer and former Island Games tennis star Emma McMullan (222) produced a storming last lap to win in an impressive debut time of 45.24. Ciara Kaneen's return to athletics competition on the Isle of Man following three years away at University was highlighted by a mighty sprint finish to claim second place in 45.50 and 5 seconds ahead of O'Hanlon.
