Manx Harriers are extremely grateful to members of Manx Fell Runners for rescuing this year's event. Thanks to Richie Stevenson, Dave Quine, Cal Partington, Doug Drown Christine Barwell & Peter O'Shea who will be assisting event coordinator Andy Fox of Manx Harriers with the planning and organisation of the Millennium Way Relay 2008. Thanks also to Chris Quine & Dave Griffiths of Manx Harriers who have offered to help with the handicapping. |

We are delighted to announce that Mann & Partners have agreed to sponsor this years Millennium Way Relay. Manx Harriers are grateful for their continued sponsorship & support of this unique event.
The Millennium Way Relay & cycle, one of the highlights of the Christmas sporting calendar takes place on Friday 26th December 2008. The action starts from 9.30am at Sky Hill, Ramsey, with teams of four runners tackling the Millennium Way in a relay to the finish at Castletown Square. In addition, cyclists run the first leg of the route to Brandywell Road, and then complete the course on two wheels. In order to give everyone an equal chance of winning, relay teams are handicapped with the slower teams starting first. Cyclists also have the option to make up the first leg of a relay team, handing over to second leg runners at the Brandywell Road, and continuing on the bike to complete the individual cycling event. |

The four legs of the relay vary in both distance and terrain. The toughest and longest is the first leg from Sky Hill to Brandywell Road, whilst the second leg from Brandywell to Crosby is rough in places but largely downhill with the exception of the climb out of the Baldwin valley. The third leg from Crosby to St Marks is the shortest of the four and is all on the road but predominantly uphill, whilst the fourth and final stage from St Marks to Castletown is mainly flat but can be very boggy in places. |
