When Olympic 800 metres gold medal winner Steve Ovett opened the track in 1991 it was to cater for young and old. The opening meeting was for seniors but the youngsters did a lap with Steve Ovett and the first veterans mile was held to include the oldies.
When the track was re-opened in 2010 (after nearly a year of closure) it was to cater for the young and old.......
...and make use of the long summer nights before the snow returns, but ....
anyone who parks like this is for the high jump!
