8 years on: Manx Harriers are staging their annual summer 10km race walk at St Johns on 15 July. Here is a photo from the event in 2002 when the Farmers Arms (now closed) was doing steady business and Steve Taylor was only officiating at local races.  Steve is off to Moncton (New Brunswick Canada) on Sunday to judge the race walking in the IAAF World Junior Championships. "I feel truly honoured when selected to officiate at these events" Steve said last week. "As rules state that you can only have one judge from any country I am therefore representing Britain but I am also representing the Isle of Man."  But he has that he will never forget his roots - in fact he will be at the St. Johns 10km Thursday night before he goes.
