Three regulars from the local running scene represented Great Britain at  Rimini on  28 September, in their respective Age Groups.  All three qualified earlier in the year, taking part in qualifying events in the UK.

Results: Gianni Epifani 35 – 39yrs, 22^nd – 2hrs 7mins 33 secs Russell Callister 40 – 44yrs, 39^th – 2hrs 14 mins 41 secs   Paul Cubbon 45 – 49 yrs, 35^th – 2 hrs 17 mins 57 secs

677 athletes took part, split into 2 races incorporating age groups from 20 – 24 yrs to 80 – 84 yrs ! Time wise on the day Gianni was 88^th fastest, Russell 229 and 288 fastest respectively.

Although the distances for a standard duathlon is a 10k run, 40k bike ride + 5k run due to course changes the distances were slightly longer 11k run, 43k bike + 5.2k run. Weather conditions were good and although things were a bit tricky during the initial part of the run mainly due to the twisting nature of the course and over 300 athletes it was relatively fast.   Website http://www.duathlon.it/
