Almost the forgotten man of the Parish Walk, John Cannell (pictured at the 2002 Parish Walk at Ballasalla in comeback mode), has won the event more times than anyone else - SIX.
and don't forget his success in the National Long distance championships: 1987 100 miles - 1st 17:55:10 1988 100 miles - 2nd 17:10:15 1989 100 miles - 3rd 19:28:05 The only other people to win the overall event three times or more are: Derek Harrison (5) Henry Harvey (3) Willie Corkill (3) Robbie Callister (3)
