Dermot O'Toole (pictured above) has the finish line in sight with his 900+ hour project - a book detailing the history of the Parish Walk. Provisionally titled "A Walk Through Time" Dermot intends to put the story of each year's event into context by also writing about a major event from every year that the walk has been staged since 1960.

The book will contain a collection of outstanding photographs, masses of statistics and reports from every Parish Walk, not just reporting on the winning performances but also stories from throughout the field. Dermot, a captain on the Seacat, who has finished the Parish Walk on 10 occasions (every year from 1995 to 2004), has interviewed dozens of personalities, walkers and officials in his quest to record the full history of the event.
