The launch of the HSBC Manx Harriers Open Meeting at manxharriers.com had me searching for some old photos when I stumbled upon a tribute that Steve Partington supplied about Kevin Madigan in February 2004, 10 years after Kevin's passing. I'm not going to do justice to either the history of the event or Kevin's life at this stage but in the build up to 2010 event it is about time we publicly remembered the role that Kevin used to perform. The venue (outside the clubhouse at the NSC), the immaculate clothes, the multiple stop watches and the dark glasses are exactly how the older generation remember the ever present official at what started as the Boundary Harriers invitation meeting and became the Manx Airlines Open Meeting before the present format evolved.
