The meeting was named "The Manx Airlines" between 1983 and 2002. Here is a picture of the top three in the 10km run from the final year of Manx Airlines. Winner Steve Green is flanked by runner up Colin Moore (right) and third placed Chris Quine (left).

In 1984 Phil Vesty clinched Olympic Games selection with his winning performance in the 20km walk. He gives five times Olympic walker Chris Maddocks a piggy back at my mother's house in Kirk Michael before Sunday lunch - the only time that my mum could remember every last scrap of food being demolished!
