Don't miss these scenes - the Peel Hill Race on Easter Saturday afternoon (pictured above and below) is just one of three events in the Easter Festival where the Manx are required. The Festival has undergone a revival in recent years with an increasing number of students returning to the event but the locals have been less prevalent. And the locals are needed to help to organise too, or there will be no event for locals or visitors. Statement from the organisers, a sub-committee of Manx Harriers Entries for the Easter Athletics Festival 22nd -24th April 2011 close in 2 weeks - Saturday 9th April. The organising committee require your help and support over the weekend. For Friday evening’s 10K run in Port Erin at 7pm we need lots of help with marshalling duties around the course and at the start & finish areas.  On Saturday morning we need helpers to flag the course for the hill race. Free lunch from the bar menu will be provided for course markers at the Creek Inn before the athletes arrive for the first race at 2.15pm. We shall then require marshals on the road & bridge sections of the course as well as on the headland.  On Easter Sunday morning the action moves to Douglas Promenade for the 5K & Junior 3K.  We need marshals along the course and at the turning point from 10.00am until approx 12.15.  Please help if you can with any of the above tasks, as we really need to make the Festival safe and enjoyable for our local and visiting athletes.
