29 year old Aaron Quinn, a Sports Development Officer at the National Sports Centre, was one of the happiest people around when, through his membership of Manx Harriers, he received an entry in the Flora London Marathon on 26 April.
Aaron, like his friend Craig Lunt, who died nearly four years ago at the age of 25, has spent most of his life as a footballer. In the past he has dabbled at running but now he is committed to making it his main sport.
Commitment is a quality that he obviously possesses in abundance as not many people of his age are prepared to say they are going to raise £5,000 for a charity.
As most charities are, it is special to him. He wants to ensure that other Manx youngsters do not lose their lives to undetected heart problems. Craig's Heartstrong Foundation
has already saved at least one other life in the Isle of Man and helped countless other youngsters.
Craig Lunt's family and friends are ensuring that he will never be forgotten. Let's hope there will never be another tragic loss of life.
