Manx Walkers at English Schools Champs

Name the runners. You can just about see the entire field at the start of Creg-ny-Baa Fell Race. (Pic ML)

Simon Skillicorn was already on his way back down to Windy Corner as Richie Stevenson and Alan Bagley made their way up. Simon eventually finished a close second.(ML)

Overtaking with care. Tony Okell concentrates hard when passing Tom Cringle to move into second place.  Tony later passed Simon to win with Tom hanging on for third. (ML)

Steve Partington, who was 40 years old on Saturday 17 September, is surely everything a sportsman should be. Determined, competitive, talented, modest when winning, generous in defeat, he has time for every athlete.   He is pictured at e 2005 Sports Awards with wife Cal, who was 7th in the world masters fell running championships a week ago. With the End to End Walk on Sunday it gives me the chance to re-publish a picture from the 1976 End to Walk in Santon.  John Cannell (aged 30) leads Murray Lambden (aged 19) on what appears to be a country road compared to the state of the Douglas to Castletown Road these days. manxathletics.com is an independent site designed, edited and funded by Murray Lambden.

The site was updated daily for three and a half years until June 2004 when the webeditor took a sabbatical. It now serves as a portal for Manx athletes with special features on a few events and ad hoc publishing when time permits without giving in to the addiction! Old features can be found by using the Google search below.

manxharriers.com which is edited by Paul Jackson, is the highly recommended sister site of manxathletics.com
